Checks are issued bi-weekly and distributed through department offices. Direct deposit is offered allowing for immediate access to funds via electronic fund transfer.

Insurance
A comprehensive insurance benefits program is provided to all members of the graduate staff and their families.   Health Care Connection is a flexible benefits program which gives you the ability to select your own benefits from a choice of three benefits plans.   Each of the plans offers a medical plan that includes hospitalization, major medical and prescription drug coverage.   In addition, dental coverage, life insurance, short-term disability and a health care spending account are provided.   However, there are some medical/dental plans that require an employee contribution.

Professional Liability
New York Hospital Queens' insurance program provides a professional liability coverage to all members of the graduate staff.   The insurance is limited to claims which occur as a result of the resident's approved activities at New York Hospital Queens in connection with their residency training file while employed at the Medical Center.

Vacation
Four weeks

Meal Allowance
Meal cards are provided to members of the graduate staff when on-call.

Housing
Subsidized housing is available for PGY 1's at a housing complex within walking distance from the Medical Center.   Rental fees are deducted monthly from paychecks.

Uniforms
Uniforms are provided with laundry service.

Working Hours
NYHQ complies with the ACGME working hours as well as New York's 405 Bell commission regulations.
