Job Responsibilities:
Reviews ACGME "General and Special Requirements for Residency Training in Surgery" on an annual basis, executes changes to meet additional ACGME requirements as warranted; assembles material for ACGME site visit.
Reviews applications of residency program applicants, schedules and coordinates yearly interviews for selection of new residents, establishes and maintains data files for use in preparation of rank list for MATCH, corresponds with candidates and those who are accepted into the program.
Coordinates resident rotation, vacation, call and conference schedules. Collaborates with Program Director, attending physicians and residents regarding residency program. Supervises collection of data fulfilling requirements of ACGME, American Board of Surgery and other licensing and credentialing Boards; prepares reports and compiles statistics.
Verifies training and processes letters of recommendations for current residents as well as past graduates; prepares correspondence relative to residency program and educational issues. Compiles faculty and resident evaluations. Interviews and assists in training of support personnel. Trains residents in the use of computer programs required. Coordinates resident conference travel and social events of educational program.
