If your patient has a wound, then we'll help heal it with first-rate care.
The Department of Surgery is pleased to announce a new clinical service aimed at providing first-rate care for patients with wounds.
In-hospital patients will be seen within 24 hours and a full consult will be available with recommendations about dressings, need for debridement, follow-up... essentially, a complete wound care management plan.
Recommendations for consultation with ancillary services will also be made: podiatry, infectious disease, dermatology, plastic surgery. Diagnostic services may also be suggested: xrays, ct/mri scans, vascular lab studies. The team will help with the scheduling of tests and the follow-up of results.
Once the patient is discharged, the service physicians will continue to follow these patients on an outpatient basis with scheduled follow-up regimens.
